My friend is a cutter. He told me, and i never really got worried. I know he isn't suicidal, he does it because the cuts feel good. (Cutting causes a natural pain reliever to the body). He did i like twice in a 8 month span. (He use to be a OD cutter, thats when i worried) He's my best friend, but my other friend completely flipped out.

I feel bad cause sometimes i can't help but laugh at the whole situation. I know its mean, and but really, he fit the stereotypical white emo boy, who has the middle class family when 2 parents and are financially stable. He is completely loved, and a super genius, musically talented and good looking guy. And thats why i laugh, because i know he has no reason to cut.

My other best friend flipped out completely. She had me call the suicide hotline, search the internet for help.  And through this whole process, i continued to laugh about it. Am I messed up?

I wouldn't say it's all that funny.  You tell me what is a reason to cut, and then we can discuss why he has no reason to cut.  Outward problems don't mean anything, if the problems are actually within your own head.

As for your other friend... I don't think that's amusing either.  She's clearly quite worried over it, and the stress that can cause is never all that great.

Are you messed up?  No, probably not.  Some things strike a nerve, and in certain cases, when they irritate you or surprise you, or otherwise confuse you, it can make you laugh.  I don't think you're messed up, but I also see no reason to laugh.

You can't always just say that, maybe there is something that's bothering him, that you don't know about.

I mean, I come from a really wealthy family, and people use to say to me, if your parents are so rich and you have a nice house and everything, how could you have depression and all this.

But that's all my parents cared about, money.
So people can have different perceptions on things.
Defintly do not laugh but.
How do you know he is not suicidal? He could be lying..
It's a hard thing to admit to, so just keep in mind that he could be.

Let him know that you are there for him, and it upsets you to see him like that.
